Joining the Olga Korper Gallery for her first solo exhibition on Morrow Avenue is conceptual artist and all-around badass Kelly Mark. This exhibition, titled Back Burner, will feature new video, sculpture, photography, drawing, and print works. A formal opening will be held on Saturday April 1st from 2-5pm. The exhibition will be on view from April 1-22.
When Kelly first joined the gallery in November she was given a choice; to wait until 2018 for her inaugural grand entrance, or to nab the final 2017 slot in April, which would restrict her to a tight timeline. She jumped on the April option like a cat on a mouse with no real plan for what was to come. Having made no new work in almost a year, Kelly had been, as she eloquently puts it: bummed out. However, with a looming deadline of a show mere months away, she strapped on her big girl boots and went to work.
