Every painting is like the intonation of a single, musical note. All have their own unique pitch, vibration and timbre. On each canvas, flawless lines are rendered in precise, geometric patterns which are then brought to life with color. In concert, these compositions generate a compelling sense of movement with their unique colors and fixed edges that seem to extend beyond the canvas. The distinctive hues and tones create a single, visual harmony, allowing the painting to resonate as one, rich entity. Much as the elements of pitch, vibration and timbre can all resonate in a single, musical note.

Jeremy Everett is known for working with a variety of natural processes. His pieces are created by submerging books, newspapers and other printed matter in chemicals and allowing the chemical reaction to crystalize. The chemicals also loosen the ink from the printed pages, so that the ink itself is crystallized and redistributed to the outside of the book structure.
